Well, guys and dolls, I last posted Oct. 12. I had intended to post a little more often than that, but my world has been Busytown 5000 these last few weeks. I’ve had a few great sessions and shot a wonderful wedding. I’ll post some samples from each in this post. Beyond photography, my rock star boyfriend and I went on an “Everything’s Bigger in Texas” road trip where we visited Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, and everywhere in betwixt. We had a great time just getting away and getting out of the grind for a week. Now, in my first post I mentioned to you, readers, that I’m kind of obsessed with mobile photography. Well, like an idiot, I only took my phone with me on our road trip, so there are some mobile photos from our trip at the start of the gallery below.
Anyway, allow me to backtrack a little. Before our trip, I shot the Finch wedding. It was one of those dreary days that make you feel like you’re in a movie. Kyli and Lee’s wedding was intended to be outdoors at her parents’ beautiful home. Unfortunately, Mother Nature had a different idea, and it rained off and on… And was just gross outside. So, with that said, the wedding was moved to the Knights of Columbus Hall in Conway, and I’m pretty sure this is where it was supposed to be all along. Sure, there was hesitation from the bride when her plans fell through a bit, but when her groom’s face lit up as she walked down the aisle, I think all plans flew out the window and their life began. I always go back to the song, “First Day of My Life” by Bright Eyes whenever I see a bride and groom together at the altar; and I imagine that’s probably what it feels like. The start to something new.
A few weekends ago I spent a couple of hours with my THV 11 coworker, Pam Baccam, for a headshots session. The weather was beautiful and there were minimal shadows, but the wind really got to us. Luckily her husband tagged along and paid close attention to her hair for us so that it wasn’t blowing around too crazy-like for her photos. We walked an area in which I’ve shot two other sessions- the bridge near the Clinton Center. I definitely recommend the area for some quick shots. Great Arkansas scenery.
Now, we’re catching up to speed. The last of the photos below are of my niece, Anna. Because I’ve stopped waiting tables on the weekends, I get to go to games and see her cheer; among other fun weekend activities I’ve never really gotten to do. She was so intense that night and even got the spirit award! I also was able to get together with my brother’s family for a fall photo shoot, so I’ll post some samples from that soon!
I hope you all enjoy thumbing through the photographs below. If you click on one, you can see it larger and begin to flip through each. I haven’t tested the gallery out on my iPhone yet, so let me know how it looks on the mobile platform. Hopefully we can still flip through the photos.
Lastly, I’ve begun booking holiday sessions! Can you believe it? I’d love to get together with you! Send me a message at facebook.com/jessicajohnsonphotos. I love you all and am so thankful for your support!
